Hi,
I’m writing from London, UK with a query dating back to an evening when I saw Marina Tamayo dance on 6th January 2023 at The Kino in St Leonards, East Sussex. It was an electric evening and I was really struck by the story Marina told about her family ‘Manton’ which she had just rediscovered. I’ve often thought about the extraordinary story Marina told and when I returned to The Kino this weekend for another ‘Noche de Reyes’ flamenco event I asked the dancer, Jesus Olmedo, who danced with Marina last year, whether he could recall the Manton story. He remembered the night very well but suggested that I contact Marina directly to ask whether she had written it down. I’m asking as I’m personally fascinated but in a professional capacity I’m considering pulling together a collection of items of clothing that carry powerful stories for a potential book.
