Jesus Olmedo Bridges The Gap For Australian Flamenco Students

Regular Local Classes with an International Spanish Teacher.

Professional flamenco dancer,
Jesus Olmedo, was born in Madrid 1985.

He began his dance studies at the early age of 7, attending the Royal Conservatory of Madrid and studied under the direct tuition of Rafael de Cordoba for 6 years.

Since leaving the Conservatory in 2004, Jesus has received a number of flamenco dance awards and toured every inch of Spain and beyond to London, Dubai, Dublin, and  Australia.

In September 2014, Jesus Olmedo took his place in the residency program at Flamenco Australia. Olmedo has featured in various shows alongside Tamayo including Flamenco Salamanca, Inertia at the Peacock, Folkmenco at Moonah, Newtown Theatre and performing as  dance partner at various shows across East coast of Australia.

Apart from his immense talent and eloquent teaching style, Jesus brings something unique to Australian Flamenco Students in the form of regular weekly online classes in dance, castanets, guitar, percussion and singing theory.

Jesus Olmedo will return to Australia (once COVID restrictions lift) for a decent length of time, returning to teach in our studios and perform across Australia. In 2021,  students can look forward to absorbing the style and flavour of Olmedo’s Flamenco.
