Salamanca Contemporary Dance Festival 2016

Marina Tamayo has been invited to present a work at Hobart’s Salamanca  Contemporary Dance Festival “Salamanca Moves” Celebrating the diversity of dance.

After eight years of regular teaching residencies in Hobart, Tamayo returns this time to present a conceptual dance work that combines multimodal dialogue: Flamenco dance, Song, and Graffiti art. This work is commissioned for the festival and will be unique in Australia.

Christchurch Tour 6th December 2014

Our Great Southern Tour for 2014 wil now encompass New Zealand, kicking off with a show in Christchurch on the 6th of December.

Flamenco Australia™ – resident artist and flamenco dancer, Jesus Olmedo from Spain, will be travelling with us we tour Christchurch, Auckland, Ulverstone and Hobart.

The riveting flamenco dancer, Jesus Olmedo will be performing with  Marina Tamayo (flamenco dance), Ruth Santamaria (flamenco song) and a special guest guitarist, David Holberton (flamenco guitar).

This tour will also include workshops in Christchurch for flamenco dance, song and guitar.

Great Southern Tour

Marina Tamayo and her international guests announce their ‘Great Southern Tour’ for 2014.

The Flamenco show tour will include:

AUCKLAND – CHRISTCHURCH – ULVERSTONE – HOBART

Two sensational weeks of authentic Spanish and Flamenco dance, music, songs, food and celebrations of tradition and culture.

  • DEC 6th Christchurch one show only and workshops
  • DEC 7th Auckland workshops and private classes
  • DEC 13th Ulverstone one show only
  • DEC 14th Hobart Workshops (all day)
  • DEC 15th Hobart Workshops and One show only (almost sold out).

Artists on tour: Jesus Olmedo (dance), Ruth Santamaria (song), Marina Tamayo (dance).

The tour will be accompanied by two different flamenco guitarists, Al Valodze (Tasmania only) and David Holberton (New Zealand only).

Flamenco del Mar perform in Ulverstone – 13th December 2014

As part of our 2014 Tasmania tour with resident artist, Jesus Olmedo from Spain, we are happy to announce a new show in Ulverstone (North West Tasmania).

The riveting flamenco dancer, Jesus Olmedo will be performing with Sydney’s ‘Flamenco del Mar’ alongside Marina Tamayo (flamenco dance), Ruth Santamaria (flamenco song) and a special guest from Adelaide, Al Valodze (flamenco guitar).

This short Tour of Tasmania will also include a performance in Hobart (click here for details) plus a day of workshops in guitar, dance and song.

Flamenco del Mar perform in Hobart – 15th December 2014

Jesus Olmedo from Spain, will be making a special trip down to Hobart as part of his residency with Flamenco Australia™.

Flamenco dancer, Jesus Olmedo will be performing with Sydney’s ‘Flamenco del Mar’ alongside Marina Tamayo (dance), Ruth Santamaria (cante) and special guest Al Valodze (guitar).

The short Tasmanian Flamenco Tour will include an intensive day of workshops in Guitar, dance and song, plus a full stage show at the Salamanca Arts Centre for ONE NIGHT ONLY, and a second show in Ulverstone (click here for details).
