MARINA TAMAYO
           PROFESSIONAL TRAINING -Adelaide Australia,  Buenos Aires ARGENTINA, Granada, Madrid, Jerez, SPAIN


Marina studied and has performed Flamenco for over 25 years .  Marina started her dance training as a Classical Ballet & Modern Dance student in 1974
RAD with Jacqueline Johnson, Kenneth Norman, and Garry Carse.   Continuing her dance studies Marina embarked on Jazz Dance &  Classical Spanish
and Folkloric Dance training Ballet teacher Jacqueline Thompson in 1980.  Marina remained under the teachings and direction of Thompson until the mid
80's  when she  began dancing professionally, Performing Flamenco Cabaret and Tablao.   Marina left  Australia in 1984 to study in Granada (birth place
of her mother and  family) with the late Paco Torres whom enthusiastically invited her to join his dance company  resident at Jardines Neptuno in 1984.  At
this time she met with guitarist  Manuel Cano  and was further inspired to study classical Spanish.  Upon returning to Australia to complete her HSC,  
Marina  was introduced to international artist                                  and  he immediately  invited her to train and perform with him in 1985.  They became
sensational dance partners on the Australian Stages for several years.

After two decades  of performance work,   In 2001,  Marina returned to the training studios of Spain was accepted  to study full time 1 year under the
flamenco greats like
La Tati, Merche Esmeralda and Eli Truco in Madrid.  Marina embarked on  a further 2 years of Full time dance studies in Madrid and
by 2005  Marina had completed her  formal professional  studies at the prestigious Amor De Dios, Centro de Arte Flamenco y Danza Española Medalla de
Plata al Mérito en Las Bellas Artes Federación de Entitades del Flamenco de la C.A. de Madrid  in Flamenco Dance certified & approved by the General
Consulate of Spain, Spanish Embassy.  Marina furthered  her studies  in Buenos Aires with  full time  Classical Spanish with Argentina's acclaimed classical
Spanish Dance artist
Graciela Rios Saiz & Omar Urraspuro of Buenos Aires which resulted in an invitation to remain and continue training/dancing  with

Marina continues to study with many great artists in Spain each year including  Monolete, La Tati, Antonio Reyes, Manuel Reyes, Belén Maya,  Rafaela
Carrsaco, Cristobal Reyes, Merche Esmeralda, La China, Eli Truco, Belén Fernandez, and Maria Magdelena in Madrid.  Marina also studies in Jerez de la
Frontera and Granada most recently in 2006 with  
Pepa Molina, Luis de Luis y Ester Marin de Granada, SPAIN.
